BALETITE® net replacement film

BALETITE® is a new solution that brings more advanced baling technology. Replacing net, it adds an extra air barrier, preserves silage better and saves time both in the field and when recycling.

BALETITE does not replace the outer silage film — it replaces only the net. Once the baler ejects a bale bound with BALETITE, it must be wrapped straight away with standard stretch film such as SILOTITE.

How it works

• Inner layer (BALETITE): replaces the net, compresses the bale firmly, holds it in perfect shape and forms the first air barrier on the most vulnerable bale edges.
• Outer layer (SILOTITE): standard film applied by the wrapper in 4 to 6 layers. It seals the whole bale airtight on all sides and protects it from rain, sun (UV) and external damage.

Key benefits of the combination

• Double protection on the edges: bale edges are where silage most often spoils. Because BALETITE overlaps the edges slightly, together with SILOTITE you get over 10 layers of protection where it matters most.
• Better feed quality: with far less oxygen inside the bale, fermentation is faster and cleaner. White mould on the silage surface is almost completely eliminated.
• Easier opening in winter: there is no net for the feed to tangle and freeze in — in winter you just cut the film and everything comes off at once.
• Extremely easy recycling: both films are made of the same material (polyethylene). When opening bales you remove them together, put them on the same pile and send them for recycling, without painstakingly separating net from film.

Which balers support BALETITE

BALETITE cannot be used on ordinary straw balers. You need a modern round baler with the factory option of film binding instead of net (Film-on-Film or Net Replacement technology).

Why it does not work on ordinary balers:

• Braking and tensioning: ordinary balers tension net mechanically with rubber or metal rollers. BALETITE needs a dedicated hydraulic or mechanical pre-stretch (braking) system that stretches the film before it enters the chamber. If the film is not stretched properly it wrinkles, tears and the baler cannot feed it in.
• Width and cutting: net and film are cut completely differently inside the baler. The knives on older or standard balers are made for twine or net, so they would chew the plastic film or not cut it at all.

What if the baler only has a net system?

If the baler was bought with the standard equipment package (net only), BALETITE must not be loaded: the knives will chew it and the rollers will not stretch it enough, so it will crumple inside the chamber. The good news with Krone balers is that the film system can be retrofitted by an authorised dealer.
